Owner-Occupied Property Tax Credit

Tax Credit

Any owner occupied property qualifies for a 2 ½ percent property tax credit, as long as you lived in your home as of January 1st of the tax year.  There are no age or income requirements for this credit!  You must apply by June 1 of this year to receive your credit on your 2015 tax bills if you have not ever applied for this tax credit before.

This credit is only applies to your primary residence and will stay with the property once you have applied for it.  So, if you move into a new home and keep the old one as income property be sure to notify the county(ies) of the change in your primary residence.

Check your tax bill to see if you are receiving the 2 ½ % tax credit, or call me with any questions.  Below are links to the county auditor’s office where you can download the correct form for your home.
